The webcam industry is constantly evolving, with millions of performers streaming across dozens of platforms every day. While individual cam sites occasionally publish statistics about their own communities, comprehensive cross-platform insights are extremely rare.

At Lemoncams, we aggregate live cam data from the world's leading webcam platforms, allowing us to analyze the industry as a whole. Our database currently contains information on more than 2.3 million cam models, making it one of the largest datasets available for comparing cam sites.

For this report, we analyzed all cam models that have been active during the last three months (June 2026). The following sections compare the industry's leading platforms by active model count, gender distribution, age demographics, geographic reach, and model nationalities, revealing how today's cam landscape differs around the world.

Which Cam Sites Have the Largest Performer Communities?

The size of a cam platform is often measured by its traffic, but the number of active performers tells an equally important story. A large and active model base means greater variety, more categories, and a higher chance for viewers to find someone who matches their interests.

Based on 773,789 models that were active during the last three months (June 2026), Chaturbate remains the industry's largest platform, closely followed by Stripchat. Together, these two platforms account for a significant share of all active cam models in our dataset, underlining their dominant position in the global webcam industry.

Behind the two market leaders, platforms such as CAM4, BongaCams, and Camsoda form a strong second tier with sizeable performer communities. While these sites host fewer models overall, they continue to attract tens of thousands of active performers and remain important players in the industry.

One interesting takeaway is that the webcam market is far from evenly distributed. A small number of major platforms attract the vast majority of active models, while dozens of smaller sites compete for the remaining share. This concentration helps explain why the leading platforms continue to shape industry trends and attract both new performers and viewers worldwide.

Bigger Cam Sites Tend to Have More Balanced Gender Distribution

Although female models remain the largest group across most cam sites, the gender composition varies considerably from one platform to another. Some websites have built communities that are overwhelmingly female, while others attract a much more balanced mix of performers.

Among the major platforms, Chaturbate stands out with the most balanced gender distribution. Nearly half of its active performers are male (49.2%), while 39.1% are female, making it one of the few platforms with a large and diverse performer base. CAM4 follows a similar pattern, with male performers even slightly outnumbering female performers. In contrast, Stripchat and BongaCams are much more heavily dominated by female models, with women accounting for more than half of all active performers.

Outside the largest platforms, specialization becomes even more apparent. Sites such as SkyPrivate, Visit-X, Cams.com, LiveStrip, and Babestation have performer communities that are almost entirely female, whereas platforms like Flirt4Free maintain a comparatively large male community. Several platforms also stand out for their relatively high proportion of trans performers, highlighting that different websites cater to different audiences and performer niches.

Overall, the data shows that choosing a cam platform is about more than just size. Each platform has developed its own demographic profile, attracting different types of performers and creating unique communities within the global webcam industry.

Not All Cam Sites Are Young: Age Demographics Vary Widely

While performers aged 20 to 30 represent the largest age group on almost every cam site, a closer look reveals surprisingly large differences in age demographics across platforms. Some communities are dominated by younger creators, while others attract a much older and more experienced performer base.

Platforms such as BongaCams, Streamate, CameraPrive, and DSCGirls have an especially strong concentration of performers between 20 and 30 years old, with this age group accounting for around 60–70% of active models. At the other end of the spectrum, CAM4, Big7, LiveStrip, Visit-X, and JetztLive stand out for their noticeably higher share of performers aged 31 and above, giving these platforms one of the most mature communities in the industry.

Interestingly, the youngest performers (18–19 years old) make up only a relatively small share of active models across nearly all platforms. Even on sites where they are most common, they remain a minority compared with performers in their twenties.

Overall, the data suggests that each platform has developed its own demographic profile. While some appeal primarily to younger performers entering the industry, others have built communities with a larger proportion of experienced models, offering viewers a much broader range of age groups than the webcam industry is often assumed to have.

No Cam Site Rules the World

The global webcam industry may be larger than ever, but there is no single platform that dominates cam models in every country. Instead, different cam sites have established strong regional communities, making the global distribution of models far more diverse than many people might expect.

Chaturbate is home to the largest share of active cam models across much of North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia, making it the most geographically widespread platform in our dataset. However, several competitors have developed clear regional strengths. Stripchat attracts the largest share of active models in countries such as India, Japan, South Africa, and Venezuela, while CAM4 leads in Brazil, Argentina, France, and Italy. BongaCams, meanwhile, remains the dominant platform for cam models in Russia.

These regional differences suggest that cam models don't choose platforms at random. Language, local communities, payment options, marketing strategies, and long-established performer networks all influence where new models decide to stream.

Rather than one platform attracting models everywhere, today's webcam industry is made up of several regional leaders. Understanding where cam models prefer to stream provides valuable insight into how the competitive landscape has evolved and where different platforms have built their strongest performer communities.

A Global Presence Doesn't Always Mean Global Diversity

Having models from many countries doesn't necessarily make a cam platform geographically diverse. A platform may be represented in hundreds of countries while still relying heavily on just a handful of them. That's why we compare both the total number of countries and a Country Diversity Index, which measures how evenly a platform's models are distributed across the world.

Understanding the Difference: Country Count vs. Diversity Index

The total number of countries simply shows how many different locations a platform's models come from. It measures global reach, but it does not tell us how important each country is within the overall model base.

The Country Diversity Index, on the other hand, looks at how evenly models are distributed across those countries. For this report, we use an inversed Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI), a common measure of concentration. A higher diversity score means that models are more evenly spread across many countries, while a lower score indicates that a platform relies heavily on a small number of dominant countries.

In simple terms, a platform can have a high country count but still be geographically concentrated if most of its models come from just a few places.

Among all platforms, CAM4 stands out as the most geographically diverse. Its active models come from 186 different countries and territories, and no small group of countries dominates its performer base. Chaturbate is equally impressive in terms of global reach, also covering 186 countries, but a larger share of its models originates from a few key markets, resulting in a lower diversity score. Stripchat and BongaCams also rank among the industry's most internationally diverse platforms, with active model communities spanning well over 100 countries.

The contrast becomes even clearer when looking at the Top 5 Countries Share. On CAM4, the five largest countries account for just 50.2% of all active models, indicating a highly balanced global distribution. By comparison, nearly 99% of CameraPrive's active models come from only five countries, revealing a much stronger geographic concentration despite being present in more than 80 countries.

Overall, the data shows that there is an important difference between global reach and global diversity. While many platforms attract models from dozens of countries, only a handful have succeeded in building truly international performer communities with a broad and balanced geographic distribution.

Every Cam Site Has Its Own Geographic Fingerprint

Although most major cam sites attract models from around the world, their performer communities are far from identical. Each platform has developed its own geographic identity, with certain nationalities making up a much larger share of the model base than on competing platforms.

Some patterns stand out immediately. Chaturbate has particularly strong model communities in the United States, Colombia, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Canada, reflecting its broad international appeal. Stripchat, on the other hand, attracts a remarkably high share of models from countries such as India, Japan, South Africa, and Turkey, while CAM4 has built especially strong communities in Brazil, France, Italy, Argentina, and Chile. Other platforms have even more concentrated nationality profiles, often relying on just a handful of key countries.

These differences are no coincidence. Language, regional popularity, payment methods, local marketing, and long-established performer communities all influence where cam models decide to stream. Once a platform becomes popular within a country, it often continues to attract new models through word of mouth and local networks.

The result is that every major cam site has developed its own geographic fingerprint. Understanding these nationality patterns not only highlights the global diversity of the webcam industry but also reveals how differently platforms compete for cam models around the world.
